At Expense Tight, we build tools to help you manage your personal finances with transparency and clarity. This Privacy Policy describes how Expense Tight ("we," "us," or "our"), operated by AetherStack LLC, collects, uses, protects, and handles your information when you use our mobile application and services.

1. Information We Collect

To provide an intelligent, automated financial assistant, we collect several categories of information:

• Financial Data (via Plaid): When you choose to connect your bank accounts, we use Plaid to securely retrieve your account balances, transaction history, loan/liability details, and investment holdings. We do not see or store your bank login credentials; Plaid handles that authentication process.
• Account & Profile Information (via Firebase): When you register an account, we collect your email address, password, user ID, and any profile information you manually enter (such as income streams, manual asset lists, and budget preferences).
• Notification Tokens (via Firebase Cloud Messaging): We collect temporary device push tokens to deliver important alerts, weekly goal check-ins, and bill reminders.
• AI Conversation Data: We store chat histories to maintain the context of your conversations with the financial assistant. If you upload documents (like receipts or statements) inside the chat, we process them temporarily to generate answers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data solely to deliver and improve our core financial assistant features:

• To organize your accounts, balances, and recurring bills on your dashboard.
• To analyze transaction patterns and identify subscription expenses.
• To compute your Financial Health Score and generate savings/debt payoff recommendations.
• To power the AI chat assistant (via Google Gemini APIs) so it can understand and answer questions about your financial situation.
• To send you push notifications about upcoming bills or goal progress.

3. Data Protection and Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial data. We share your information with third-party service providers only as necessary to power the app:

• Plaid: To retrieve account data securely. Plaid's privacy policy governs their handling of credentials.
• Google Firebase: To manage user authentication, account databases, and push notifications securely.
• Google Gemini (GCP/AI Studio): To process text and document analysis queries. Your financial data sent to the AI assistant is used strictly for prompt completion and is not used to train public LLM models.

4. Data Deletion & Retention

You have complete control over your data:

• Wipe Data: You can wipe all transaction histories, goals, and profiles from our database at any time using the "Delete all my data" option in the Profile settings.
• Disconnect Banks: You can disconnect any bank account at any time, which invalidates the Plaid access token and removes all cached transaction history associated with that institution.
• Delete Account: You can request full account deletion, which removes your profile from Firebase Authentication and permanently purges all linked data.
